Bump's Mission to Mexico PDF Print E-mail
Bump's Mission to Mexico is a non-profit organization located in the border town of El Paso, TX with their ministry based across the border in Cd. Juarez, Chihuaha. Freeman and Carolyn Bump have been involved in ministry to Mexico for 45 years and are still going strong. They have planted five churches and their ministry has encouraged the growth of five others. A current project Freeman and Carolyn are involved in is the building of permanent camp facilities for the use of the churches. Two buildings are already up and the third has been started. There is still much work to be done and volunteer groups are in high demand.

Here is a recent letter from Carolyn & Freeman Bump:  April 2006
Dear friends & supporters:
In re-reading the story of Moses and the Israelites (in my new Guideposts devotional Bible) I marvel again at how often the people saw God’s hand providing for them, and yet they still complained!  My prayer is that we will see God’s provision for our needs and praise Him instead of complaining.  There are so many  blessings that we’ve received this year and especially in March.  Here is a partial listing:
The combined work team from Miami, Bartlesville and McAlester OK came to the Revolucion church.  They worked at:
·          Finishing two showers in the downstairs.
·          Put floor, sheet rock and ceiling in the conference room next to the platform.
·          Built a metal door and opened up the west side of the auditorium.
·          Built a retaining wall and poured sidewalk outside the new door connecting to the parking lot (we still have to build the stairway).
·          Painted classrooms and bathrooms (including artwork by one young man).
·          Sheet rocked stairway and put doors to close off downstairs area.
·          Helped with games and classes for neighborhood kids in the evening.
There were 52 people in this group and the church was a beehive of activity all week as you can imagine!  Our folks from the Revolucion Church pitched in to help, too—our young men especially like working beside all the cute blonde girls!
The second work crew this spring was from Rolla, MO.  Their group was much smaller, only 12 of them, but they really worked hard!  They went to camp and leveled and poured a section of floor in the new chapel building.  Brother Fidel and 2 others helped finish the floor.  They also painted the ends of the building so the weather won’t warp the plywood.
We are looking forward to an Easter meeting at Revolucion with Brother Gilberto Delgado from Colegio Biblico.  Our ministries teams are up and running—making calls, planning activities and generally getting more involved.  I guess they remind me more of the folks who rebuilt Jerusalem than the complaining Israelites.  “The people had a mind to work” Nehemiah 4:6
We again offer our thanks to you—God's people who “have a mind to give”.  Without you we could not serve Him.                                    God bless you,  Carolyn & Freeman
